Newsletter 8 – December 2025

The year 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting one for our club, with a full calendar of diving activities, training opportunities, and trips for every level. From local lake dives to international adventures, there’s something for everyone and plenty of chances to learn, explore, and simply enjoy great times together underwater.

Annual General Assembly

The club’s annual meeting took place on December 2nd, bringing members together for an evening of reflection, celebration, and planning.

One of the highlights of the event was honoring our oldest and longest-standing member, Gitty, who proudly marked an incredible 50 years of membership. Her dedication and continuous support remain an inspiration to all of us.

We also took the opportunity to thank our resigning president, Frank, for his remarkable 14 years of leadership and commitment. He was presented with a few gifts as a token of our deep appreciation for the energy, passion, and stability he brought to the club throughout his long tenure.

During the meeting, we discussed the diving trips and training activities planned for 2026, which promise to offer both exciting adventures and valuable learning opportunities for divers of all levels. Looking to the future, we also held the committee elections. With heartfelt gratitude to Frank for all he achieved, we warmly welcomed João as the new president of the club.

Nikolaus Dive

On December 7th, the club once again held its traditional Nikolaus Dive, bringing members together for a cherished annual ritual. After the dive, we gathered to celebrate the occasion with warm Glühwein and good company. In the midst of the festivities, we took a quiet moment to remember our departed friend Derick, whose presence and spirit continue to be felt deeply within our community.

To round off the day, the club met later at the Christmas Market, enjoying warm drinks, tasty food, and the festive atmosphere together.

Diving trips in 2026

In 2026, the club is looking forward to several exciting diving activities.

  • Gozo, Malta: In April, we will travel to Gozo, offering members the chance to complete technical courses with a local operator or simply enjoy relaxed fun dives;
  • Kaş, Turkey: Our main trip next year will take us to Kaş, in June. A stunning region known for its excellent diving conditions, where beginners will also have the chance to complete their training;
  • Red Sea, Egypt: Secondary trip to the Red Sea in October, where crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and abundant marine life create the perfect setting for diving and relaxation;
  • Monte-Mare, Dive4Life: We will continue skill development with sessions at the deep pools of Monte-Mare and Dive4Life;
  • Kronau, Hunsfels: And we plan to explore the lakes in Kronau and Hunsfels for both training purposes and enjoyable local dives.

Training 2026

For 2026, the club has a full training programme lined up for divers of all levels.

The Ocean Diver course is already underway, while the Sport Diver course will begin in March.

Over the summer, members will have the chance to complete the Advanced Diver qualification, including deep training dives at Hunsfels and during our diving trips.
